Vikhram S is a researcher working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, multimodal reasoning, and public-interest technology. His work spans vision–language models, explainable AI, constitutional AI, and domain-specific reasoning systems, with applications in medicine, law, and public safety.
His research centers on AI systems that integrate perception, language, retrieval, and structured reasoning to support decision-making in complex, high-stakes settings. He has developed multimodal frameworks for healthcare, including explainable vision–language models for dermatological diagnosis, confidence-aware inference pipelines, and interpretable architectures designed to improve transparency, reliability, and clinical trust.
This work is published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and was recognized among the top 15 percent of papers reviewed at ICICC 2026. His research on gender-responsive AI for public safety was selected for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 Compendium, a joint initiative of India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and UN Women, chosen from more than 235 submissions across 50 countries as one of 23 global case studies.
He is the creator of IndianConstitution, an open source constitutional intelligence platform for the semantic analysis of India's constitutional texts, now exceeding 33,000 downloads and used as research infrastructure across legal NLP, civic technology, and governance-oriented AI. He advises Tech Society at Saveetha Engineering College on machine learning research and mentors undergraduate researchers in the field.
His work increasingly engages the relationship between artificial intelligence, institutions, and society, spanning AI governance, digital public infrastructure, and the design of trustworthy systems for public decision-making.
